Saving the planet one bag at a time.

I saw this fabulous idea. I love reusable shopping bags for the following reasons
  1. they fit way more in them than plastic
  2. they are easier to carry
  3. they can be used for so much more than just groceries
  4. they can be used again and again and again
I love these bags because they are stretchy and you can just keep putting more stuff in. If you want some you can get them on my facebook group or if you want to make your own it is sew simple.
  1. find an old T-shirt
  2. cut off the sleeves along the seam
  3. cut off the collar along the seam
  4. you may want to make the neck opening a little deeper to give you a wider opening
  5. turn inside out
  6. sew the bottom shut along the hem line
  7. DONE, now go shopping!

Another green idea

I saw this idea out there somewhere in blogger land a month or so ago and I liked it for a number of reasons.
  1. it's another "green" idea, to lessen the waste we are tossing out.
  2. it was super simple.
  3. it would make a great gift.
  4. it was cute
  5. and it used up more scraps from a variety of my fabric boxes.
So I sat down and put some together. What do you think of my reusable makeup remover pads with a mesh bag for washing them in?
They are made with soft flannel(remover side) and a fun cotton print to make them look cute. They have a layer of cotton quilt batting in the middle for softness and absorbency. I use mine a lot and think they are great.
