Convert any chair into a High Chair...or a child restraint system.

Here is my newest creation. I had never seen one of these before until I did a google search for "travel high chairs" last summer. It wasn't what I was looking for then(I wanted one that clamped on to the table), but I stored the idea away in my brain, because I knew that it could be a handy item, and one day I would create one. So now I have. Again I did a google search for them, so that I could look at how they worked and what features they came with. There were actually quite a few different ones out there. So I started playing around with some of those different features and styles to create my own pattern. And this is what I have come up with. So far I haven't found a chair that it doesn't fit on(which is a good thing). I've made it so that it buckles up in the back with an adjustable strap, instead of just a tie, and there are belt loops to keep it in place. I am pretty happy with the out come. If you are interested in one, they are in my Etsy shop(link is on the side bar) or posted in my facebook group.

something new from what was old

I don't know what my 6 year old is doing now, that she hasn't done in years past, but this kid is wearing holes in the knees of her pants faster than I can replace them. It doesn't matter if they were bought brand new or if they were second hand, she will wear them out equally as fast. I've been meaning to do something with these holy pants for some time now, I have a stash of them. I have made ruffly skirts out of them in the past, but I decided to do something different this time. So I made a pair of ruffly, twirly pants. They were a huge hit. She is totally in love with them and would wear them everyday if she could find the perfect shirt to go with them for every day too.I will be making more of these and some capris too! More than likely I will have them for sale in my Etsy shop or my facebook group as well, so keep your eyes open.

LOST: Reward offered

Have you seen the fabric to match this patterned cat?

It's missing. I can't find it anywhere. I told a lady that I would make a second cat for her so that she would have matching ones for her twin baby girls because I KNEW that I had more. Almost a full yard more(less the amount I cut out for this cat). I know that I have a lot of fabric in a lot of boxes. And I know that it really isn't that organized, but I do keep like fabrics in the same box (quilting cottons in one, flannel in another, corduroy in yet another and so on). I have looked high and low and I can not find it anywhere. Where could it possibly have gone? Did some fabric thief break into my house needing that exact piece of fabric and took only that...or did they? Maybe there is more missing and I just haven't noticed yet. OK, it seems as though I have also lost my mind. So if any of you out there in bloggerland have seen either of these items, would you kindly send them back this way?

A Give-a-way worth checking out.

Hey everybody, my sister-in-law's business is being featured in a give away at Cute Like Me! You should really go check it out. She is the one that inspired me to get off my duff and get doing what I said I was going to do for years. She started up Peek-a-boob nursing covers. Totally cute! Totally trendy! Totally necessary! Anyways, she just started doing it. And I thought to myself, "I've been talking about creating and selling my stuff for a few years now, I really should do something about it". So I did. Not only did she inspire me to get busy, but she passes her scraps on to me, and I create more fabulous things. So really if you haven't already stopped reading this and headed on over to check out the give-a-way, you really should.

Creatures in the cuddly variety

Aren't they adorable?! I decided that I wanted to try to create other kinds of creatures that were inspired by the cuddly cat that I made my daughter for Christmas. These are what I have come up with so far. A Monster, a Bear, another Cat, an Alien, a Dog, A Bunny, a Frog and a patterned Cat. I've been experimenting with fabrics, not one of the above creatures are made with the same kind of fabric. They are so much fun to make. We'll see how they do in my Etsy shop and in my facebook group. If you want one, come on buy the shop and check them out!

Treasures from all over North America

February was Fat Quarter month at Sew!Mama!Sew!. I participated in their FQ swap. I sent out eight FQ to people all over North America(I ment to take pictures of the ones I sent out, but I didn't remember until I had them all sealed up and ready to mail), and they sent me a FQ in return. Today the last one arrived. I have been very pleased with the fun fabrics that have arrived. Some of them have already inspired me with a project that just needs to be created. Some of the others match nicely with fabric in my stash, so it is bound to be made into some fabulous creation of mine. A few others will need some thinking to come up with the perfect creation. But whatever, however, it was fun to get 8 new pieces of fabric in the mail. I hope everyone else involved in the swap recieved just as fun of new fabrics as I did.

A whole lot of tissue

I just made 50 tissue cozies today. "Why 50?" you ask. Well, good question. You see first of all, they are so quick and easy and fun to make. Secondly, they use up all kinds of scrap fabric(a huge shout out to my sister-in-law for passing on her scrap quilting cotton). Thirdly, for our Relief Society(our church women's group) 17th of March party(a celebration of it's organization), which I am in charge of organizing, we are doing a "Purse" theme. And I thought that these would make great prizes for the games we will be playing(oh, I just ruined the surprise...I wonder if anybody from church reads this blog?). Now of course we wont be playing 50 games, and I am not likely to hand out 50 prizes. "So what will I do with the remainder" you ask? Again, excellent question. Well you see, In April I will be attending a Moms and Tots garage sale as a vendor and I thought these would be nice little grab items. I have all kinds of great ideas for things to have available at the garage sale. I have been busy busy busy creating. It's been alot of fun. So if you are around on April 25, you should check it out, come see all the great stuff that I've been creating, maybe even pick up a little something special for you or your kiddies.

Textured Blanket - The Finale

I'm done. It's finished. And I am pretty pleased with the result. I used a plain quilting cotton for the border, flannel for the backing and satin for the binding. Here is a close up of the border, it is cuter than it looks in the big photo.I loved that it pulled in all the colours that I used in the blocks. The flannel for the backing is purple with all kinds of coloured dots. I learned a lot in the process as is always the case when creating something new. If I ever do it again, I'll do somethings differently, be a little more precise in some places, and avoid some fabrics. But all in all I think that it was a success. My biggest hope is that the little girl that it is for will adore it and it will fulfill it's purpose in helping to calm her. I really hope that it will be something that she treasures for along time. It thrills me to know that another one of my creations is heading out to bless someones life.

If you missed out and want to see more of the process in making this blanket, check out here, here, here and here.
